This is a pattern for a Tunisian crochet shawl with optional edging and hood. It is worked side to side so that if your yarn is variegated the stripes will be vertical rather than horizontal.

I used sport weight yarn, a size H crochet hook, and a size I Tunisian crochet hook. However the instructions include measurements in the pattern so you can change it to any yarn you like.
