My little dream each winter has been to be able to wear a skirt and blouse without freezing into blue goose-skin! I have thought a hundred times that I would have loved to have some extra warm layers to keep me warm, some PRETTY ones that I also could show off if necessary. Something to put beneath the blouse, the skirt, the dress. In finest yarn, and - of course - with some lace.

Finally, I found the time to work out this cute, little set!

It consists of:

The camisole perfect as a layering piece, but beautiful enough to be worn alone:) It is worked top-down and in the round, starting from the broad, pretty lace, followed by stockinette st and ended with a gorgeous picot edging. The shoulder-straps are worked in the end, and seamed to the garment. The camisole is supposed to be fitted.
The sizes are 29/30/32/33.5/35/36.5/38/40/41.5/43/45” , finished bust measurement.

The panties are also worked in the round, starting from the legs worked in lace, and stockinette to desired length, legs are joined and the main body is worked in the round. The shaping of the back is created using simple short-rows. The panties are supposed to be warming, more than actually fitted. There are 3 sizes to choose from: 38/41/45”. You might adjust sizing by working to a slightly different gauge.

Materials Yarn: I used a blend of merino/alpaca for the set. I know that many are sensible to these fibers. The set would be equally lovely in a silk/merino blend, a pure silk, a cashmere…. I used Isagers “Alpaca 2” - a light fingering weight yarn. This yarn comes in skeins of 50gr/1.76oz and 247m/274yards. You will need 2/2/3/3/3/3/3/3/3/3/3 skeins to work the camisole, 2/3/3 skeins to work the panties.
Needles: circular needles in the size to obtain gauge. I used needle size 2.5mm/1.5US. This is a suggestion only, you will need to make a swatch to determine the correct needle size.

Gauge 10x10cm/4x4” in stockinette = 27 sts and 40 rounds.

The pattern The lace is charted as well as written out round-by-round. All necessary stitch-counts are given. Measurements are given in cm’s as well as inches. The camisole is without waist-shaping. The pattern indicates the position for sidemarkers so that you could easily decide where to place waist-shaping if desired. There are no difficult sts or techniques involved. Apart from a normal cast on you should be able to work lace following a chart and/or written round-by-round instructions. Abbreviations used are: k, p, ssk, k2tog, yo, The panties are shaped using simple short-rows.

Errata (concerning the free downloads only): Round 12 of the written round-by-round instructions should read: (k2tog, yo, k7, yo, ssk)
