The Sheep Happens Socks are colorwork socks with sheep pattern on the leg and foot. They are worked seamlessly in the round from the top down and have a short row heel. There is a 3-color stranded pattern with some rows with three colors in one round. It’s necessary to keep your tension loose when carrying the floats.

Sample shown is knit in size 2 for the foot circumference 21 cm/8.25” and shoe size EU 38 (UK 5, US 7.5)

The sheep motif is from Angela Rangel’s AlterKnit Stitch Dictionary.

Hobbii Rainbow Sock Wool 4-ply (75% wool, 25% nylon) 50g - 210m/230 yards shown in Sand colorway

Any fingering weight sock yarn can be used to knit this socks, as long as you can obtain the gauge.

These are the amounts of my test knitters yarn usage in all three sizes. The exact yardage depends on your desired leg and foot length.

Needles

2.5 mm/US 1,25 for colorwork
2.25 mm/US 1 for toe and heel
2.0 mm/US 0 for ribbing

32 sts and 34 rnds in 10 cm/4” in colorwork pattern, in the round and after wet blocking

Sheep Happens Socks to żakardowe skarpetki z motywem owieczek na nogawce i na stopie. Dziergane są bezszwowo i na okrągło, od góry do dołu, z piętą formowaną rzędami skróconymi. To trójkolorowy żakard i są tu rzędy, gdzie trzeba pracować z trzema nitkami w okrążeniu. Dlatego bardzo istotne jest odpowiednie naprężenie nici.

Skarpetki ze zdjęcia mają rozmiar 2 i są zaprezentowane na stopie o obwodzie 21 cm i rozmiarze buta 38.
