Sheepish Little Sweater
Sheepish Little Sweater is an easy and adorable pullover sized to fit infant through youth 10. It is knit top-down in one piece with raglan shoulder shaping. The sheep chart is an easy Fair Isle pattern with two colors worked per round.
Sizes: 0 - 3 months (6 - 12 months, 18 - 24 months, 2T) 4, 6, 8, 10.
Needles: US 8/ 5.0mm, or size to obtain gauge, and US 7/ 4.5mm, or 1 size smaller than gauge needle, in 16”/ 40cm circular and 9”/ 23cm circular or DPNs for sleeves.
Gauge: 18 sts and 26 rows = 4”/ 10cm in SS.
Yarn: worsted weight:
MC: 100 (115, 140, 160) 185, 210, 250, 280 yards/ 95 (106, 128, 147) 170, 192, 229, 256 meters;
CC1: 20 (21, 22, 25) 30, 35, 40, 45 yards/ 19 (20, 21, 23) 28, 32, 37, 42 meters;
CC2: 10 (10, 11, 11) 12, 14, 15, 18 yards/ 9 (9, 10, 10) 11, 13, 14, 17 meters;
CC3: 70 (80, 100, 110) 125, 145, 170, 190 yards/ 64 (74, 92, 101) 115, 133, 156, 174 meters.
Optional Mohair to carry with CC1: 15 (16, 17, 18) (20, 25, 30, 35) yards.
Notions: tapestry needle, 4 stitch markers plus a different one to indicate BOR.
Sample knit in: Emma’s Yarn Washable Worsted (100% superwash Merino; 218 yards/100g) in Moss (MC), Weathervane (CC1), After Dark (CC2), and Kale (CC3); plus Emma’s Yarn Marvelous Mohair in Weathervane held double with worsted for sheep.
