This is a pattern for a cabled poncho that was designed by me in collaboration with Debi Maige. The poncho incorporates a unique cable stitch, and is knit from the bottom up, allowing you to adjust the length as you like.
There are many options (all with instructions contained within the pattern) in the knitting of this poncho. You can elect to adorn it with buttons, or not. You can make either a cowl neck, as shown, or turtleneck, or even a slight boatneck. The open side can be adorned with matching buttons, or left plain. You can edge your finished poncho with an optional crocheted edging, or not.
With all these options available in the pattern, your finished poncho will definitely be “yours”, and exactly as you like it.
There are instructions for size S, M and L contained within the pattern.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good knowledge of cabling)
The focal stitch used in this pattern is charted.
This pattern was expertly tested by Debi Maige, who can be reached at: locations@verizon.net. The yarn used in the sample is Sportmate by Lorna’s Laces, in colorway, Midway.
