This is the final design in The Swish and Flick Collective.

The inspiration for these socks came from the iconic Shell Cottage in the last book of the Harry Potter series.

The socks feature a beautiful panel of stitches that run down the outside of each leg. This panel depicts the shells which not only adorn the cottage, but also the beach which separates it from the sea. The shells are bordered by garter ridges, which to me resemble the rippled sand just after the tide has retreated.

Clementine’s story concludes with this design, and we finally find out just who her parents are……

I knit my sample using Lay Family Yarns in ‘The Cornish Way’. This is a pretty speckled yarn, perfect for the design.
