A wonderful gift for someone who is ill or in a wheelchair or just enjoys a good snuggle.

This lap blanket is not as large as an afghan, it is made to fit comfortably across the lap and legs without being too bulky or heavy. The blanket in the picture is 40 inches long by 30 inches wide but it is an easy pattern to adapt to any size. It calls for soft cotton yarn, I Love This Cotton but will work with most worsted weight yarns.

The blanket is crocheted in a simple but interesting pattern and can be crocheted in one color or as many colors as you’d like. It is not a difficult pattern and suitable for a beginner with basic skills. It is a quick pattern as afghan patterns go, it takes me about three evenings to make one.
