This favorite pattern is knitted in pieces of triangular or three-cornered shape, and is convenient for taking up at odd moments, being easy, and after the first one or two shells are done and the method got into, requiring but little counting of stitches, there being one stitch less in each row after the three plain rows; five rows form a rib, and the work should be rather close, as then the ribs are more raised. Use Strutt’s knitting cotton, No. 6, and a pair of steel knitting needles, No. 16.
