The shell stitch is very easy to achieve, in every row all you need to do is skip 2 and place a single crochet then skip 2 and place 5 dc, every row is the same, the only difference is when you finish a row with a single crochet, you’ll start the next row with a chain 3 and 2 dc in the same stitch and vice versa, watch the video for more clarity.
