This pattern is made in shell stitches. I made the shell stitches first then add the waistband at the top. You can actually adjust the waistband depending upon your size. And the color also of the waistband can be one color or more. I did the change in color because I almost run out of yarn. I planned to make it all red or black but the yarn that is left is not enough. So feel free to do choose what you like in your waistband.
