Shell Strand Socks
The Shell Strand Socks pattern holds a special place in my heart, as the featured stitch resembles the shells I would search for as a young girl on the beaches of Haida Gwaii. “Strand” is the Dutch word for “beach,” an homage to my Dutch heritage and to my grandmothers who taught me how to knit. I hope you enjoy the experience of creating these shell-kissed socks.
NOTES
This pattern is knit in the round from cuff to toe. The sock features a textured pattern created by shell strand stitches on the front of the leg and top of the foot. It has a heel flap and gusset construction featuring the Eye of Partridge stitch on the flap and a square Dutch heel. The sock is finished with a classic wedge toe.
Both video and written instructions are included for the shell strand stitch.
