Shell-ter Me
Shell-ter Me is a square blanket worked from the center out in spiral construction using dc and chain stitches. No joined rounds after Round 1. Keep working around and around in a continuous spiral until the blanket is big enough or you are out of yarn. The pink/white was made with 1,150 yards of DK/#3 weight yarn with a size H (5 mm) crochet hook for a size of 39’ x 39”. (A smaller blanket made with 720 yards should measure about 30” x 30”.) Make it with one color, many colors, or with a yarn that has long color runs. Use any weight of yarn by changing the hook size to suit the yarn. The amount of yarn you need and the finished size will depend on the yarn thickness and hook size you use. Make it any size you desire. The 3 page pattern has written line-by-line instructions and a crochet chart.
