These captivating lightweight gloves are the perfect accessory to take you from daywear to the dancefloor! Keep your wrists warm and your fingers free, with a separated thumb. Seamlessly worked in the round, they make clever use of simple stitches to bold effect. The pattern is a dream to work from: lots of tips and step-by-step photos throughout. One size fits most, with tips on how to adjust the sizing.

LEVEL OF DIFFICULTY

Intermediate or an adventurous Beginner (assumes knowledge of crochet basics and a degree of confidence reading patterns).

WHAT YOU NEED

• 4mm (UK 8/US G) crochet hook - you may wish to have a 5mm (UK 6/US H) hook handy as well in case you want to adjust your tension.
• Yarn – 4ply in 2 colours (I used Scrumptious by Fyberspates 4-ply/sport superwash (45% silk 55% superwash merino, 365m (399 yds) per 100g (3.5oz), 14 WPI in “Glisten” (I used 90m/98yds, 24g/0.84oz) and “Seamist” (68m/74yds, 18.5g/0.65oz) - but you can substitute. I recommend a 4-ply with at least a 50% wool content to achieve the stretch you need).
• Scissors
• Tapestry needle for sewing in ends
• Cup of tea and a biscuit

FINISHED SIZE
This pattern will make gloves around 18cm (7.1in) from top to bottom and around 8cm (3.1in) across when measured flat. At the widest point (the thumb opening), they will measure around 12cm (4.7in) across. The pattern is one-size only with tips on how to adjust the size.

PATTERN INFO

• This Instant Download PDF pattern is written in UK terms (but is US-friendly) and contains all the information you need, with plenty of photos and step-by-step tutorials of the fiddly bits.
• The gloves are worked in one piece from the cuff up. Woohoo! No seams! The cuff uses back loop only double crochet (US single crochet) to make a lovely stretchy ribbing. The body of the gloves uses alternating rows of basic stitches worked in rounds with a slip stitch to join each round. Pattern increases make room for the thumb.
• The pattern is the same for the left and right gloves.
