Shelley the Snail and Family
Amigurumi Crochet Pattern
A rainy day is a jolly good day as far as Shelley the Snail is concerned. When everywhere is nice and damp she bursts out of her shell with excitement, rounds up Sheldon and Shelby, the snail babies, and off they all go for a lovely slow motion wallow in the shallow puddles. They’re often found racing each other to the end of the garden. Shelley could win easily but she lets the babies have a head start while she munches on a tasty radish or two from the vegetable plot.
This pattern has instructions for both the large and the small snails.
Using light worsted weight (DK/8 ply) yarn and a size D (3.25mm) hook, Shelley measures approx. 8” (21 cm) tall. The babies are a more petite 5” (13 cm) tall.
Suggested safety eye size - 9 mm and 6 mm
This pattern is written in American crochet terminology and includes a handy stitch conversion chart so you can translate to British crochet terms instead should you wish to.
