Welcome to Shelterbelt!

A top-down, two-coloured, triangular shawl—this is Shelterbelt. Two colours and two textures are alternating, each stripe ending with a purl ridge.

Shelterbelt is “a barrier of trees and shrubs that provides protection (as for crops) from wind and storm and lessens erosion” and it “adds diversity to agricultural landscapes, which, in turn promotes other biological diversity both above and below the surface and helps maintain delivery of a range of ecosystem services”.

Yarn

This shawl is knitted with sport weight yarn. I used BC Garn Semilla Melange (175 m (191 yd) / 50 g).

There are two colours used:

C1 (yellow): 230 m (252 yd)

C2 (green): 250 m (273 yd)

circular 5 mm needles = US 8
