Shepherdess socks are a unisex, cuff down design that knits up very quickly. They start with a textured band at the top, and then have a simple offset purl pattern over the leg and foot. The small purl bumps keep the pattern engaging, and reminded me of little sheep while I was knitting. I hope you enjoy this sweet pattern.

Shepherdess Socks are:

  • cuff down
  • simple texture that is engaging and fun to knit
  • written with a heel flap and gusset, but easily modified to include the heel that fits you best
  • traditional wedge toe
  • this pattern has been professionally tech edited (thank you, Kate!) and test knit by amazing and generous knitters. Thank you all so much!
  • knit in Barrett Wool Co. Home Fingering. It is a natural, non superwash wool that is next to skin soft, and has a beautiful twist to show your stitches off.
  • includes video links to Magic Loop, Kitchener Stitch and Long Tail Cast On
