The inspiration for this sweater came from my 4 year old grandson. He arrived for his Christmas holidays and promptly took a torch and went “investigating” (his words) around the house! He stopped at my medicine box which has a lid and a latch, and declared it to be a treasure chest! His enthusiasm and spirit of adventure made me want to knit him a Sherlock sweater. There was no pattern available. So I did what I always do since he was born: I designed one!
Easy pattern which includes intarsia. It took long because I was ill and needed periods of rest in between sitting and knitting. I used the most beautiful, softest Merino wool from Ganga Acrowools. Felt like butter in my hands. 4 ply. Done on 2.75mm & 3.25mm knitting needles. Go ahead, download this exclusive designer knitting pattern and make it for the Sherlocks in your lives! If there’s a demand, I could design a Sherlock hat & muffler. At the moment I’m designing a Dragon Scarf for my little darling. Also intarsia. Going slower, (tho’ it’s DK on 5mm needles) ‘cos there’s the Wales Dragon, and more dragons, along with exciting stitch patterns in between. In 10 colours! Bright & beautiful!
