Sherlock's Great Afghan Adventure - Mystery KAL
Sherlock’s Great Afghan Adventure is a year long mystery read and knit-along which features a new afghan motif each month inspired by a one of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s famous short stories. Beginning March 15, 2014 there will be all sorts of twists and turns to delight the mystery lover and knitter in you. Suitable for adventurous beginners to intermediate fiber warriors alike - with a whole community of friends to answer questions and cheer you on along the way.
The pattern is knit flat and will have 12 separate squares that you will seam together then apply a border once assembled. The directions for each square are written and charted. Gauge is not critical to this project - if you want to make it in a different weight yarn and needle size by all means do so - just be consistent with your gauge throughout the entire project.
Solid, semi-solid or shaded colorways are recommended for this project. Mine will be one color but feel free to mix it up - several of the squares would look great in two colors. Variegated colorways are not recommended for this project, but it is your blanket so knit it in a yarn you love. Just be aware if you chose a variegated colorway your stitch work may not show up as well as it would in a solid.
Notions:
- tapestry needle
- stitch markers (at least 2)
- a cable needle
- steady supply of chocolates or other inspirational treats (optional)
