Sheshe Socks
If you enjoyed this freebie, consider leaving me a tip on my Ko-fi!
I have designed this pattern as a companion to my ever popular Skimmer Socks pattern.
Does the world really need another sock pattern? What are you, new here?! Of course we do! I designed this sock pattern to be the holy grail; it is toe up, has a thorough video tutorial, and is sized for everyone. And I do mean everyone, from infants to adults!
Due to the popularity of this pattern, I decided to add a tutorial video so that those who are beginners to toe-up sock patterns don’t get lost along the way. I will walk you through every step. See the tutorial here: https://youtu.be/si5TtvsC25o
Sizes: Infant (Baby, 2-3 Toddler, 4-5 Toddler) (Child, X Small, Small) (Medium, Large, X large) to fit an actual arch circumference of:
3.25”, (3.5”, 4”, 5”) (6”, 7”, 8”) (9”, 10”, 11)
or
8.5 (9, 10, 12.5) (15, 18, 20.5) (23, 25.5, 28) cm
Yarn: 25 – 450 yards/25 – 415 meters of sock weight yarn. I recommend a machine washable yarn with roughly 25% nylon content.
Needles: Size US 2/2.75 mm and US 1.5/2.5 mm circular needles with an appropriate size cable for your preferred method of working in the round, or size needed to obtain gauge and one size smaller.
Gauge: Roughly 28 stitches and 36 rows equal 4”/10 cm square in Stockinette stitch on larger needles, worked in the round.
Techniques: Knitting in the round, Judy’s Magic Cast On (can sub other toe-up cast on if preferred), short rows, basic increases and decreases.
