Shetland Fern
From the book: “This design is based on ferns Jennifer observed growing in a meadow on St. Ninian’s, a tiny island just off Shetland’s Mainland island in Scotland. She ‘was charmed by their finely cut leaves, and luxuriant, swirling growth habit which belies the harshness of their North Sea habitat. Each square of leaves echoes the Norwegian star patterns.’ When viewed from a distance, the design explodes into a large and dramatic OXO pattern, a traditional Shetland motif whose origins and significance are still under debate. Shetland Fern is created using Shetland 2000 Yarn - an all-natural, undyed Shetland wool available in nine shades and perfect for replicating the natural fern motif.”
