“Everyone who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock. Everyone who hears these words of mine and does not do them will be like a foolish man who built his house on the sand. The rain fell, the floods came, and the winds blew and beat against that house, and great was the fall of it.“ Matthew 7:24-27
Welcome to another year of learning! Come join us in Knitting in the Loft as we go back to the beautiful Shetland Isles and continue to build our knitting skills. We will be taking a unique approach to these gorgeous bits of lace. In the end, you will have a “V” shaped, log cabin quilt style shawl worked in strips which build on each other. The shawl will be finished off with a knitted on lace edge.
The first clue will be released January 1st, 2025. The following clues will be released on the first of each month, with November and December being released together on November 1st. Pattern support can be found in the Sampler thread in Knitting in the Loft (I cannot wait!)

My test knit has been worked with several solid or semi-solid colors of yarn.
Three colors work very well (example: 100 grams each fingering), or one color for each month,
or one color for the whole shawl.
Beads have been charted for the final lace edge stitch patterns only. Feel free to play and add more if you would like.
Thank you so very much to my amazing test knitters: MinnesotaNancy, kendknitter, cpainter, and quilterlis. This pattern is so much better with your expertise.
Please purchase thoughtfully. Digital patterns are not refundable.
