October 2014: A new release of this pattern is now available! Brinkerhoff Bonnet

The Bonnet is worked basically in one piece and is very fun to make. The unique construction has you starting with the front band, working the top & sides of the head, and finishing at the base of the neck. Pattern has instructions for both snap and button closure options.
