Shifting Edges Blanket
This is an amazingly simple way to make a blanket. The name “Shifting Edges Blanket” helps to understand how the blanket is made. It is worked from corner to corner, so starting from one edge it widens diagonally until half and closes to the other edge.
Using only knit stitches, it is perfect to work while watching Netflix. After casting on very few stitches, the pattern increases every second row (right side) with a “yarn over” at both ends, that is worked as “knit through back loop” in the following row (wrong side).
The pattern is written for a rectangle but if you want to make a squared blanket, just use up half of your wool for the increases and the other half for the decreases. The pattern is written to make a baby blanket.
