A companion to the Shifting Lanes Shawl, this hat uses geometric shifts created with stockinette and garter stitch accents. Bold rectangular forms stand out as the shifts take shape. Follow my formula or mix and match your own!

This pattern includes links to commonly used methods for construction, which have been combined with this pattern to produce the product pictured.

This hat is completed using a combination of Stripe formulas as shown in the pattern. Instructions for each section are included. Feel free to use them in any combination you wish to create your own, unique creations.

Needles: US8 16” circulars and magic loop for decreases (or DPNs)

I chose to use 16” circulars to create the majority of the hat and switched to magic loop for the crown decreases. You can used double pointed needles if you prefer.

Yarn: Worsted Weight or equal to get gauge.

Uses less than one skein. A quick project for a single skein of your favorite yarn.

Size: Adult M/L
