Crocheting in the back loop of half double crochet stitches mimics the look of the stockinette stitch in knitting. Holding a jumbo yarn with a metallic thread in a different color creates a gentle shimmer on the surface of this hat.

Materials
Bernat Mega Bulky Yarn (100% acrylic, 10.5 oz/300 g/64 yd/58 m) – 1 skein in 88008 Aran, or approximately 64 yd (58 m) in any jumbo weight yarn.

Kreinik Twist (65% polyester/35% nylon/polyamide, 273 yd/250 m) – 1 cone in 133, or approximately 64 yd (58 m) in any lace weight yarn.

US Size S/19 mm crochet hook, or size needed to obtain gauge.

Yarn needle.

Locking stitch marker or scrap yarn.
