This is a pattern for a knit wrap pattern that features three distinct stitches, two of which come to us from Japan. All are interesting and fun to knit. One is a distinct faggottig lace stitch, one is a cluster (smocked) stitch and the last is a mock cable stitch. Together, the three stitches make a unique and beautiful shawl. The stitches, although they are Japanese, are easily learned by American knitters, especially those who love unique stitches. All symbols have been “translated” to the ones that most Western knitters are used to seeing.
The pattern also contains instructions for an optional crocheted edging.
The stitches are charted only.
Skill Level: Intermediate (assuming a good working knowledge of cable-lace knitting.)
Skill Level for the optional Edging: Intermediate (assuming a working knowledge of crocheting)
The shawl shown in the sample was made Handmaiden’s Casbah in Tulip.
The sample was expertly test knitted by Rachel McKinney who can be contacted at: 100creations @gmail.com.
The pattern is for sale in my Etsy shop, in the Cluster Shawl Section (https://www.etsy.com/shop/WearableArtEmporium?section_id=...)
