Shine Like a Diamond
I believe in telling and showing children of their potential as early and often as possible - if you agree, you may like this Shine Like a Diamond baby blanket. This is an amazing gift that will be treasured for years to come.
-----
Materials: 4.5mm or 6mm hook (depending on intended blanket size), 1200-1500yds of yarn, tapestry needle for sewing ends, (optional) stitch markers for counting, scissors
Stitches used: (US Terminology) chain, single crochet, double crochet, moss stitch (optional), shell stitch (optional)
Special stitches are explained within the pattern.
Gauge: Gauge is not particularly important to this pattern. If you are a tight crocheter, go up at least 1 hook size in order to achieve the flexibility of a snuggly blanket.
-----
Numerical Filet Explained:
• Numerical filet is a system of numbers and commas, where numbers are the amount of double crochet stitches, and commas represent “chain 1, skip 1 stitch”
• Do not make a “chain 1, skip 1 stitch” unless you see a comma
• Example:
o Row reads: 32 , 55 , 3 , 14 , 43
o Translation: place 32 double crochet stitches, then chain 1 and skip 1 space, then place 55 stitches, then chain 1 and skip 1 space, then place 3 double crochet stitches, chain 1 skip 1 space, place 14 double crochet stitches, chain 1 skip 1 space, place 43 double crochet stitches
