- Mini: ~100g (217yd) total (This size is great for using up leftovers from other projects.)
- Full: ~280g (608yd) total (I used one full skein of BSY’s Shiny Bright and approximately ½ skein each of 4 other colors—BSY’s Starlight and Pewter, Dream in Color’s Charged Cherry, and Malabrigo’s Teal Feathers. For an all-BSY project, replace with Red Rider and Impressions.)
- Large: ~1100g (2400yd) total (Yardage requirements and measurements for this size have been estimated based on stitch count and gauge.)
Recommended Needle
US 7 (4.5mm)—with a long cable (40” or longer preferred)
Gauge
5 st and 8 rows per inch (unblocked) in stockinette; gauge isn’t important—use a needle that results in a fabric density you prefer
Notions
2 stitch markers; yarn needle (for weaving in ends); ribbon or upholstery cord for ties (or create your own with knitted icord or crochet chains)
Approximate Measurements
Mini: 18” diameter
Full: 32” diameter
Large: 60” diameter
Skill Level: Beginner
Notes
- This pattern could be used with doubled fingering or DK for a slightly smaller result or doubled DK for a slightly larger result. Just adjust your needle size appropriately to achieve a fabric you like.
- The Large option involves a significant number of stitches (over 100,000). While it would be a treasured heirloom to pass down to future generations, the hours required for completion will make it a true labor of love.
