This pattern was created in the hopes of inspiring the artist in every knitter to create something truly her own (or his!). It is a simple yet elegant and functional shawl, knit from the top down. With simple lines and easy knitting, this pattern allows experimentation with color, fiber, and texture instead of being concerned with exact gauge and fit. Yarn weight and yardage are suggested according to the sample shown here.

Modifications are introduced at various stages of the pattern. At each stage, the knitter can decide whether to apply the modification or not.
