Shojo
The shawl body is triangular and worked from the bottom point upwards. The border is picked up from the slipped stitch edge and knit outwards. Beads are optional.
Only charts are provided for the lace section.
This is one of my Japanese maple collection, “5 More Shades of Acer”. The Shojo Japanese maple is a large-growing upright acer with dark purple-red leaves in the spring. The leaves remain fairly dark until autumn when the change to a brilliant scarlet. Our Shojo is more than 25 years old and anchors our shade garden off the back deck.
This shawl takes approximately 550m of fingering weight yarn.
Iridaceae Tritonia was used. Juno Medio can also be substituted, but you will need an extra half skein. Alternately, Crocosmia (singe skein) , or any light fingering weight yarn can be substituted.
