Shore Lunch Cloth
Skill Level: Easy
This pattern is also available in the “Gone Fishing” e-book.
Cleanup is awash with this scrubby cloth, and it slips inside the tackle box too! Try cotton, hemp, or linen fibers.
The pattern is worked flat in mosaic garter stitch with two contrasting colors of yarn (one color strand alternating two rows at a time with knit & slipped stitches).
Gauge and dimensions are provided in worsted weight cotton with size US 7 (4.5mm) needles. Adjust the needle size and/or yarn weight to obtain desired gauge.
Choose contrasting solid colors or try a semi-solid tonal yarn for one of the colors. Try your camera’s “black & white” setting to look at your yarns in grayscale and check the contrast between your selection(s). The pattern provides full written instructions with (optional) positive and negative charts for making useful household linens and gifts!
