Shores Cardigan

A simple, cozy, open cardigan to bring with you to the shores—to the shores of the ocean, to the lake or just about anywhere where you might need an extra layer. This cardigan is a top-down raglan sweater, a tad oversized, with a bit more length in the body and cropped sleeves. Its simple but classic construction will soon become a wardrobe staple.
It’s made with about 5 skeins of Lion Brand Martha Stewart Extra Soft wool blend (yarn is held double), which has been discontinued (sorry -- trying to get through an old stash!) but you can sub it with any other worsted weight yarn held double. Lion Brand 24/7 cotton yarn would be great for spring and summer!
The pattern is written in 4 sizes. This sweater is meant to have about 4-8 in (10-20.5 cm) of positive ease so pick a sweater size to adjust accordingly. It’s meant to fit a bit oversized with cropped sleeves.
The cardigan is worked from the top down with raglan increases. Feel free to adjust body length, arm length and the number of raglan increases to change the body and arm width as you see fit. The ribbed collar is completed at the end by picking up and knitting stitches along the sides and the back.
