The Short Cut Heel Sock Recipe comes with instructions for the Short Cut Heel- a heel that requires NO SHORT ROWS! Shaped by simple decreases and picking up stitches, the Short Cut Heel is an easy heel to master that is quick and fun to make, both in stockinette stitch and in garter stitch.
Pattern is written in 12 pt. Arial font with no Italics. Instructions are for magic loop, but are easily adaptable to other types of in the round knitting.
Pattern Notes:
Gauge: 32 stitches and 56 rounds over 4 inches in stockinette stitch after blocking.
Yarn/Yardage: Any 50-100 grams of fingering weight yarn will do. Minimal yarn requirements for each part of the sock (going by my gauge and experience) are-
Cuff, Heels, Toes- 3-5 grams of yarn each.
Foot- 12-20 grams (average size feet. Will vary greatly depending on shoe size).
Leg- 1-5 grams (Will vary greatly depending on preferred length).
Needles: 32- 40 inch circular needle for magic loop in size U.S 2 (2.75mm). Or size needed to obtain gauge.
Notions: Scissors, yarn needle
Sizes: There are 5 sizes in the pattern, and the differing instructions for each are written as 1 (2, 3, 4, 5). Each size will give you a foot circumference measuring 5 (6, 7, 8, 9) inches. Use the foot charts on page 4 to determine foot length.
