Short Ruffled Cape
This Short Ruffled Cape came about after seeing a shawl using the same ruffle technique, but with my own spin!
I used four shades of the same color, but feel free to experiment! Would love to see this with the top section in a variegated color and the ruffles in a solids to match the variegated. So many possibilities.
This would work great as a Bed Cape also, for those cold winter nights when you want to read in bed, or in front of the fire.
This in knit in one piece from the bottom up using a simple grafting technique to add the additional ruffles.
My cape was not blocked, but my lovely test knitter, Norita W., blocked hers and it looks great! Love her colors also.
Each of the first three ruffles only takes approximately 185 yards, so you will only need one skein of this yarn for the first three ruffles if you choose to use the same yarn. And the top ruffle with the shoulder shaping takes approximately 300 yards.
Have fun and thank you for choosing my pattern.
And extra special thanks to Norita W. for testing this pattern for me and catching my errors!
