A great way to use up that wonderful self striping yarn that you have left over from another project. Even a small amount can be used - just make the toe out of solid coloured yarn if needed, and you can start the colour change halfway down the instep if need be. The trick is to wind your self striping leftover yarn into two equal weight balls, then knit what you have of each so that both socks match.
