Short-sleeved Jumper
Short-Sleeved Simplicity
A very “youthful” jumper this, and if we may say so, a very charming one, with its pretty puffed sleeves. Of course you noticed that delightful looking ‘airy-fairy“ stitch, well, it’s not a bit difficult to do. Do make this one in the coming favourite - pink, either petal pink or a deep rosy shade called roseberry. Ever so flattering! (this description copied directly from book)
Only one size is given, notes on how to modify size are given towards the back of the book. Notes are also given elsewhere regarding technique, making up and care of the finished garment.
Calls for 6 ozs of 3 ply Viyelle or Ramada Fingering wool, a pair each of size 10 and 12 needles, a fine crochet hook and 5 buttons. Keep in mind that is old UK/AUS terms. The specific size of the hook and buttons is not given and so it is to be assumed size is not critical.
Written instructions only are given and some basic know-how is assumed. Written for use in Australia, terminology used would have been the same as used in the UK at the time (1939).
This pattern and book is long long out of print, and at the time of writing this entry (05/01/2015) no online source could be found for it.
