Living near Grand Teton National park, our section of the Snake River is a daily inspiration for me. I wanted to design a shawl in honor of the Shoshone people whose hand sign for their tribe resembled a moving snake leading early explorers to name the Snake River after the earliest inhabitants of it’s banks.

Shoshone is a crescent shaped shawl with a central panel of undulating eyelets which resemble a winding river or the patterns on a snake’s back.

Knit in worsted on size 10 needles this is a quick knit and a warm shawl to cozy up with around the camp fire after a day of hiking along, fishing in or kayaking on the mighty Snake.
