Shoulder Cozy
This pattern is simple to follow (it uses just single crochet, double crochet, and chain stitches) and makes a versatile garment that can be used as a cowl or a shawl. Wear it long as a cowl under your coat, and when you come inside and need a little extra warmth, pull it down over your shoulders to stay nice and cozy.
Gauge is not critical, as the fabric is quite stretchy and flexible. After being washed and blocked to be wider, the store sample measures approximately 14”x 27” when laid flat (about 54” around at bottom.
If you have a large bust or want extra room to move your arms, you can start off with more chain stitches - just make sure it’s an even number.
This pattern requires two balls of Noro Silk Garden Sock yarn. Similar yardage of any sock-weight or fingering-weight yarn would work as well.
