I used the lace weight Angel yarn held double. A fingering weight or sport weight yarn would work well also.

Gauge is not that important. The pattern repeat is 22 stitches, so the cowl can be adjusted by approximately 5.5 inches if you are able to obtain the stitch gauge. The row gauge of 8 rows/inch, allows for 3.25 inches of additional height for every 26 row repeat

Cast on 154 St . I used the Old Norwegian Cast On. (It should be stretchy or loose. ) Join for working in the round being careful not to twist stitches (or knit one row before joining)
Place stitch markers every 22 stitches to keep track of pattern repeats. Work chart 7 times around. Work 26 row repeat 3 times or more for desired length. (or height of cowl)
Bind off loosely in pattern. (knit the knits and purl the purls)
