This pattern has been professionally tech edited by the team at Knit Now Magazine.

This fun summer top, with its modern chevron pattern, makes an eyecatching statement. Knit in one piece with no seams, the intarsia sleeves add a bright pop of colour. Worn alone or layered over a t-shirt on cooler days, this will be a favourite in every little girl’s wardrobe. My daughter Matilda likes to wear hers with the buttons in front for added fun!

The sleeve caps are knit in 5 colours using intarsia. The chevron effect on the sleeves is stunning. With multiple intarsia balls in play, this is an intermediate knit, but I hope you’ll agree that it’s worth the effort.

This pattern includes a chart to show placement of the coloured chevrons.

Sizing
Available in sizes 1 (2, 4, 6, 8, 10) year
To fit chest 18” (21”, 23”, 25”, 26.5”, 28”) with 0-0.5” positive ease.
To ensure an accurate fit, measure the child and choose a size that matches their chest rather than their age. Adjust length of body as needed.

Yarn
You will need 330 (380, 420, 460, 480, 510) yards of the main colour. These numbers include a 10% buffer and you may end up using less.

You will also need small amounts of 5 contrast colours (only 4 are needed for size 1 year). This is a great project for stashbusting!
