Show Yourself Elsa
The evolution of Elsa’s hair throughout the Frozen story is one of my favorite details, culminating in the most beautiful scene in Frozen 2 (no spoilers though!). As soon as the movie ended, my five-year-old daughter was asking if I could make the “hair down Elsa” for her.
This pattern is worked in pieces in the round, and then sewn together at the end.
Adventurous beginner (You can do it! Trust me!)
Skills used include magic ring, chain stitch, single crochet, slip stitch, single crochet two together (sc2tog), back loops only (blo), changing colors, whipstitch, and simple embroidery.
I used MUCH less than one skein each of in Knit Picks Brava Worsted in Cream, Clarity, and Custard, as well as blue scrap yarn or embroidery floss.
Also needed:
-1 removable stitch marker OR safety pin for marking start of round
-yarn needle
-6mm safety eyes
-small amounts of poly stuffing
Gauge is not crucial to this project. You’ll just want to be sure that your stitches are tight enough that the stuffing won’t show through.
Finished doll is about 3.5 inches tall.
