These were designed to be made up as an odd pair, but the pattern is written so that you can make two matching pairs if you prefer - two patterns in one!

Who doesn’t love a rainbow - with the changeable weather we’ve had this summer here in the UK, these are the perfect socks for whatever the British summer throws at you!

They are knitted from the cuff down, with stranded colourwork in the leg and rainbow stripes through the foot, a reinforced heel and kitchener stitch to graft the toe - there is a tutorial for this step on my YouTube Channel if you need it.

The pattern is written for 3 sizes, small (UK 5-6), medium (UK 6-7) and large (UK 7-8), but is very easily customizable to fit your own foot. As you’re knitting from the cuff down, you can slip your work over your foot to check the fit of the leg, heel and foot as you go.

Suitable for confident beginners with some knitting knowledge (casting on, knitting in the round and joining in the round, stranded colour work, kitchener stitch - there is a video tutorial available for this step).

I have used a combination of Drops Nord and Drops Fabel sock yarns to make these socks, but you can use any 4ply sock yarn you prefer.

You will need the following to make 2 matching pairs of socks:
Drops Nord, Grey Mix, 50g/170m
Drops Nord, Fog, 100g/340m
Drops Nord, Jeans Blue, 25g/85m
Drops Fabel, Purple, 25g/102m
Drops Nord, Lemongrass, 20g/68m
Drops Fabel, Pink, 25g/102m
Drops Nord, Red, 20g/68m
Drops Nord, Rust, 20g/68m
Drops Nord, Goldenrod, 25g/85m
Drops Nord, Off White, 25g/85m
Drops Nord, Chestnut, 5g/17m

Any 4 ply sock yarn will do, however, the gauge I’ve worked to is 32 stitches x 41 rows using 2.5mm double pointed needles - you can use a circular needle and the magic loop method if you prefer.

I have tried to make this pattern as user friendly as possible, but will provide you with my email address when you download the pattern, if you have any issues at all, do get in touch and I will be happy to help.
