I was inspired to design this luxurious cardigan/shrug in natural fibres by my 25th Wedding anniversary vow renewal. It’s a shrug but can make it as a full-length cardigan if you prefer, there is an option to miss out the shaping at the waist and extend the length.

This cardigan is all about attainable practical glamour and luxury at an affordable price. It’s a go-to for when you want to be prepared for anything on any big day. I’ve gone for pink with a view to repurposing it on other occasions, a Christmas event, New Year, the races, a barbecue, a fete, anything really. However, “YOUR SHRUG, YOU CHOOSE!” It’s a season smasher in mohair and merino all year round item,a flattering layering option.

This quick knit is an intermediate seamless set-in sleeve yoke knit. It’s a good step up from a top-down raglan design. In my view the shaping is easier and the fit better. I have used a mix of double knitting weight merino/alpaca yarn held with a mohair/silk mix to give a halo effect. This design is for everyone. It comes in 9 sizes from XS to 5XL. This top is seamlessly knitted from the top down starting with the back neck. The advantage of top-down is you can try it on as you go and choose the body and arm length depending on your preference.

This set-in sleeve yoke design is an adaptation of the Cocoknits method. I’ve used short rows to shape the neck and a join as you go method for the hem neck border.
