Shruggigan
Wondering what exactly a Shruggigan is?? It’s when you don’t know what to call your garment that is part Shrug and part Cardigan!
This sweater is the perfect garment for Spring and Summer!! Knit out of the luxurious Pima Cotton, it is comfortable and chic and can be dressed up or down! Perfect for those summer dresses or with your favorite pair of jeans.
Here’s what you will need:
Yarn: 100% Pima Cotton. 4ply fingering weight. 437yds/100g
Yardage: 1300 (1450, 1675, 1850, 2000) yards / 1188 (1325, 1531, 1691, 1828) meters
Bust Measurement for sizing:
S (33-37”) M (38-42”) L (43-47”) XL (48-52”) XXL (53-57”) sizes will be listed in the pattern as: S (M ,L ,XL, XXL)
Needles: 3.0mm (2.5US) or size needed to obtain gauge. Approx: 47inch cable. Use preferred method and needles for working sleeves in the round.
Notions: 4 stitch markers, tapestry needle, waste yarn
Gauge: 32sts and 40 rows in 4 inches. Stockinette knit flat and blocked. If using the Pima Cotton, give the swatch a good steam and the stitches will smooth out and you will get an accurate gauge reading.
Note: This garment is technically built like a shrug which means it isn’t meant to have much positive ease built in to the body section. Take your bust and upper arm measurements and choose the size that best suits. The Shruggigan is knit from the top down which gives you the opportunity to try it on as you go to ensure a perfect fit.
The Blue Shruggigan that is pictured is knit with a shorter sleeve than called for in the pattern.
The Gray Shruggigan has the 3/4 length sleeve. Yardage is based on the 3/4 length.
