Shuana (short ruana) is a rectangular wrap available in 2 different sizes. Large size is created by using heavier yarn and working more pattern repeats.

The pattern is brought to life using 3 different yarns. This would be the perfect pattern to highlight that very special skein of hand dyed yarn! Just pair it will a solid or tonal main color and a second contrasting color—either solid or varigated. You are limited by only by your imagination!

Construction begins at the bottom back edge with a relatively simple Herringbone Mosaic pattern. Garter stripes are used to transition to Bramble stitch in a contrasting color. The next garter transition leads to a textured pattern I call Waves. Finally, the third garter transition leads to a simple Lacy Scallop stitch. At this point center neck opening stitches are bound off and the left and right front are completed separately working the back stitch patterns in reverse order. Icord edges are worked at the same time for a nice smooth edge and the perfect place to hide yarn tails!
