The Shushcush Diamond is not designed to take a cushion pad, it is devised to hide your yarn stash. Fill the pillow with yarn, unfinished projects that you can’t bear to look at anymore.. or your little ones’ Pjs.

Shushcush Diamond is not entirely diamond shaped, nor is it quite a square, however, it is quite a diamond for more reasons than one…
Being knitted entirely in the round and completely seamless, Shushcush is quick and simple to make.
The easy to memorise pattern makes for an ideal TV knit and presents a perfect opportunity to practice knitting in the round.
Make your Shushcush Diamond from all those scraps that are too small to be of any use and too large or important to throw away. Once complete, you have created the perfect place to conceal your secret yarn stash.

The pattern is written and tested to be as you like it, examples are quoted but size and choice of yarn is up to you.

The pattern assumes knowledge of working in the round and does not contain instructions of how many sts to carry on each needle. Should you decide to use dpns, the pattern assumes that you will know when to change from dpns to a circular system.
Stripes shown are added randomly and are not notated in the pattern.
You will need approx 200 - 300g 180 - 250 yds/ 160 - 230m of super chunky/ bulky yarn. If you don’t have super bulky yarn in your stash, two ends of aran weight yarn held together work really well and create a similar effect.
A circular knitting system approx 80cm long including needles, with a flexible cable, suitable for magic loop, of a gauge that corresponds with your chosen yarn.
Alternatively, a set of Dpns of a gauge that correspond with your chosen yarn and a matching circular knitting system.
Stitch markers to carry on the needles. I use hair elastics.
A crochet hook to make the chain drawstring.
Alternatively, a length of ribbon or a suitably thick length of yarn - approx 24” long.
Darning needle and scissors.
