This pattern was originally published as Knotty Lamb’s contribution to the 2020 Rose City Yarn Crawl in Portland, Oregon. The pattern is also part of the 2020 Pattern Collection: Birds of the Pacific Northwest.

This lightweight, chevron-based pattern was inspired by the Western Bluebird, a common bird found in the state of Oregon. This is also where the pattern gets its name – Sialia is the genus of these singing bluebirds. The angular lines and textures in this pattern make it an eye-catching knit right from the start. Choose the scarf version for a longer, narrower project or the shawl for a wider project with more drape.
