These airy, toe-up socks are ideal for a beginning lace knitter and for someone who has never tried toe-up socks before. More advanced knitters will find plenty to pique their interests, too.

The easy lace pattern alternates with stockinette rows, so there’s always something to look forward to just a few rows ahead.

The cuff is worked flat and joined to the leg as you cast off.

The short-row heel method produces no holes, and is pleasingly symmetrical. At the end of the pattern is a brief photo tutorial to help you see exactly which stitch to pick up when working this heel.

Choose between ankle length and crew length, each with full instructions for a smaller or larger cuff in keeping with the length of the leg. Instructions are also included for making the socks mirror images of each other, if you so desire.
