This pattern is for the sideways orientation alphabet lettering that is used in my Musical Magic series, done in overlay mosaic crochet. These letters can be used in other types of projects, or do the sample square for pillows, wall hangings, etc.

A chart is included along with a legend for each type of stitch. Because most people will want to arrange the letters into their own order, there aren’t written row-by-row instructions as this will differ for everyone.

Any yarn or hook will work, as long as you use your yarn’s recommended hook size. If you were to stitch out the chart as is into a square, the square would come to approximately 13.5” x 13” when using medium weight #4 yarn & a 5.5 mm hook.

You will need at least 2 colors of yarn - one for the background and one for the letters. Depending on how many letters you use, this can differ, but if making something like the sample square with #4 yarn, you’d need around 2 oz of the background color & the letter color.
