Sideways Any-Yarn Scarf or Shawlette
For those of us who just can’t face working and binding off hundreds of stitches at a time, here is a cozy, feminine scarf made with side-to-side construction.
The very squishy, soft ruffle is made of stockinette/reverse stockinette ribbing, worked at the same time as the rest of the scarf.
An easy to memorize pattern makes this a great project to work on while chatting with others or watching TV. If you choose the Garter st version, it is even fully reversible!
Use the Cast On Formula to determine how many sts to use with your yarn’s gauge. This scarf easily converts to a Shawlette – see notes at the end of the Scarf instructions.
Stitches Used:
knit (K), purl (P), slipped st (sl), wrap & turn (w&t), knit 2 together (K2tog), skbf (a Kfb variation), right twist (RT)
